Create your first wallpaper in five minutes
Right Now X was built around one loop: choose, edit, preview, save. This tutorial walks it end to end, and you can follow along in any modern browser — desktop or mobile.
Open the Studio from the homepage. Pick a canvas ratio that matches your screen: Desktop 16:9 for most monitors, Mobile 9:16 for phones, or set a custom output size if you know your exact resolution.
Set a background. A solid color is the fastest way to a calm desktop; a gradient adds depth; an uploaded image makes it personal. Files you upload never leave your device unless you choose to save them to an account later — the Studio reads them locally and releases the memory when you close the page.
Add a text layer. Type a quote, your name, or today's focus. Choose a font, weight and color, then drag the layer or set its position precisely. Every change lands on the canvas immediately, and the undo/redo stack remembers everything.
Preview honestly. Hit Fullscreen preview — the browser asks for the gesture, and Esc or the on-screen button always brings you back. This is what “launch wallpaper” means on the web: a true fullscreen preview, not a claim that a webpage can repaint your operating system.
When it feels right, download the PNG at the exact output size. Your draft auto-saves in the browser, so you can close the tab and continue later. Export the config JSON if you want to move the design between devices or keep a version history.
That's the loop. Accounts will add cloud folders, quotas and sync — but creation itself will always work without one.
