Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account to create wallpapers?
No. The Studio works without an account: your draft auto-saves in the browser and you can download PNGs anytime. Accounts add cloud folders, quotas, devices and sync.
When does my daily quota reset?
All daily quotas reset at 00:00 UTC, regardless of your display language or time zone.
Which files can I upload?
JPEG, PNG, GIF or WebP, up to 10 MB per file. We verify the real file type (not just the extension) and scan uploads before they are stored.
How long do deleted files stay in the recycle bin?
7 days on the free plan, 30 days on paid plans. After that, files, thumbnails and index entries are removed by an auditable cleanup task.
Can a website change my operating system wallpaper?
No — and any site claiming otherwise is misleading you. Browsers don't allow it. Right Now X offers a true fullscreen preview plus a download you can set as wallpaper yourself.
How do I install Right Now X as an app?
Use your browser's install option: the address-bar icon or “Install” menu item in Chrome/Edge, “Add to Home screen” on Android, and Share → “Add to Home Screen” in iOS Safari. See the blog for a step-by-step guide.
What does “AI generation is not enabled” mean?
AI image generation depends on an external provider. The API, quota and audit framework is built, but the switch stays off until the provider passes contract, quality, cost, security and rollback checks. The endpoints answer HTTP 503 with code AI_PROVIDER_NOT_CONFIGURED instead of pretending to work.
Do public library assets use my storage quota?
No. Referencing a public asset costs nothing. Only saving a copy to your own folders counts against your asset count and storage.
Which browsers are supported?
The current and previous major versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. Where a capability is missing (for example directory access), we offer a clear fallback such as manual multi-select.
How do enterprise trials work?
Enterprise accounts get a 7-day trial, then 7 days of read-only and download access, then the account freezes. We email reminders on days 6, 15 and 29, and trial data is deleted on day 30.
